I was feeling a little left out

so I thought I would become a "contributor" and post to the blog.  I, along with the ladies, am here in the UK working and living.  So far I am finding things quite comfortable and nice other than the bitter cold.  The people here that we work with are wonderful and very friendly.  Unfortunately, as stated in previous posts, I too find myself saying "what?" a lot.  In addition to the dialect issues, my bad hearing in my left ear (even with a hearing aid) doesn't help.   We all went out for drinks on Wed night and I didn't stay long because #1) I can't drink because of this inner ear problem I have and #2) because with all the noise and my bad hearing I couldn't hear what anyone was saying so it just became too uncomfortable for me to keep asking "what"?  Maybe I'll figure out a better way to deal with it as we continue.  My son was on Spring break so he came over to London where I met him and spent the weekend with him sightseeing.  London reminds be a lot of  New York, only older.  Very fun.  Looking forward to  going to York with the ladies tomorrow and do a little sightseeing, and undoubtedly, some shopping!
